What is muslin?

Muslin Silk is a transparent white silk . It is native to Bangladesh and is of superior quality . It is noble silk, which is why this silk is quite expensive.

The muslin is made from carded threads which is untangled and combed using a framing machine to obtain very fine and soft fibers. The muslin is transparent, it is very light and fluid.

How to paint on silk?

• First, choose the quality type of silk you want. Lighter, thicker, patterned, plain, flexible, more rigid, ...
• Once you have chosen your silk, you must stretch it on a notched frame . To do this, use 3-point push pins or claws .
• When your canvas is stretched, you can then paint it or you can make patterns with guttas. You can also put anti-spead on your silk so that the colors do not fuse.
• Let your imagination run wild, creating effects, using different colors, ...
• Once your silk is painted, let it dry and then fix your color in the steamer, with an iron or in the microwaves (according to the manufacturer's recommendations)
• Then wash your silk

Advice

For a better flare of your colors, make sure that your scarf is tightly stretched. Avoid passing the brush too close to the lines of gutta while ensuring that the colors go all the way against it. To avoid drying out around the hem, brush along it without painting it and making sure you apply enough color.
